About us

We are Bespoke Brewery, we are driven by an unquenchable thirst for award winning real ale and a great community spirit!

We pride ourselves on being everything Royal Forest of Dean, and on being the number one brewery in this land. Although founded in 2012 the real work started in 2018 when, we a family group, headed up by myself, Matt, and my wife Milly, bought the brewery. We trimmed the fat, changed the minds of our customers and suppliers, and focused on producing a consistently perfect pint!

Now, two years on and one pandemic later we are turning the corner and are ready for greatness, with a brand new purpose built brewery. With our brew kit back home, at Church Farm, we feel ready to pursue all of our beery dreams.

Alongside producing a great product we are big on community, we can't wait to get you over to the new brewery for a pint (or four). Our community is our life blood and we thank you for getting us this far, we are super excited to share all of our plans, beers and events with you!

Get ready 2021 we are coming for you.

Meet the team

Bespoke is run by family and friends, read on to find out more about us.
Matt Hughes – Director and all things beer. Matt steers the ship at Bespoke and keeps the whole team motivated. He spends his week helping with sales, brewing, casking and delivering, not to mention building the new brewery! He is certainly not shy of a challenge and is always looking for a new project, which keeps everyone busy and Bespoke Brewery moving forward. In his very little down time, Matt loves a pint the pub and spending time on the farm with his family.

John Winder – Head Brewer and man of many talents. When John isn't brewing our core range of beer or experimenting on the test brew kit you will find him cleaning casks, delivering and even working behind the bar. John is most at home with a pint, but is also a keen cyclist and home brewer.

Jo York – Sales Manager. You will know Jo from emails and phone calls, she is in charge of getting our beer sold to all of our customers and is always busy finding new places to sell bottles, mini kegs and casks as well as taking care of our social media. She is a keen runner, so when she's not smashing marathons she is taking care of customers and keeping everyone happy.

Dave Waterton – Graphic designer. Dave is our longest serving member of staff and has been dedicated to Bespoke since 2015. Dave looks after all of our customers who have custom labels, he is always busy designing labels and working on our branding. When the designing is done for the day Dave spends is time playing football with his mates and walking his dog Sophie.

Rhys Hughes – Director. Accounts, building, bar work, there is nothing Rhys won't do. He keeps us all in order with many spreadsheets and is always willing to help out with any area of the business. Rhys works full time elsewhere during the week, but spends the weekends helping us get the new brewery finished.

Henry Boughton. After all the work at Church Farm is done for the week, Henry helps wash casks and deliver. He has played a big role in the move to the new brewery, including driving the trailer with our precious brews kit on! He takes his role as 'chief taster' very seriously and loves a pint of Forest Gold. You may only see him a couple of months of the year as he splits his time between Church Farm and his business in the Falkland Islands.

Sandy Henderson – Director. When she isn't helping out with youngest member of the team, Sandy spends her time helping to label orders for our corporate customers and also working on Market stalls. Outside of Bespoke Sandy is kept busy by her garden and enjoying a glass or two of wine.

Milly Hughes – Director. All things organisation, Milly is in charge of coordinating the week, planning the brew schedule and keeping the brewery running smoothly (where possible!). She assists with casking the beer each week and prepping orders. She will often be found with her mini me on the farm tending to the farm veg patch and chickens.

Levison Hughes – Boss Baby. When he isn't distracting the team with his cuteness, Levison spends his days on the farm keeping everyone on their toes!
